The Carl Payne Big Band specializes in music from the Big Band Swing Era, with a bit of contemporary Rhythm and Blues. The band members include band directors, teachers, engineers, lawyer, law enforcement, TV producer, college and high school students. Our goal is to preserve the music of the Big Band Era and educate, not only the listening public, but young aspiring musicians.

Founder – Carlton Payne Jr., a retired Marine Corp Band Trumpeter, combat veteran and professional musician who studied at South Carolina State University and the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts.
