Cottontown Soul Society

January 26, 2019 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

It’s an underground Soul Party ya’ll! Come out Saturday night (Jan 26) at 9pm for a sneak preview of Columbia’s newest band. We’re serving up a heaping helping of peace, brotherly love, and some sweet horn driven soul. Shelley Magee is back on the scene, fronting her first band in years and she wants to celebrate! This band may be new, but these players are all-stars. Cottontown Soul Society features the smokin’ hot horn section of Mark Rapp Group, Chris Bussell, and Catherine Allgrim…the deep funk of Rodney Foster Jr and Ronald T Green holding down the rhythm…and Ace Evans, playing those tasty guitar licks. It’s gonna be a funky good time.

This party is at a super hip, underground, downtown spot called The Warehouse. Helping us celebrate is our good friend, Donald Merckle. He’s one of South Carolina’s best singer/songwriters, and will be kicking off the night playing his fantastic original tunes before CTSS cranks it up to 11. So get there early and plan to stay late. THIS PARTY IS BYOB and there’s no cover, but there will be a suggested donation at the door. Also we will be collecting donations to help one of our deeply loved drummers Clyde Frazier III deal with his medical expenses. He’s healing and can’t wait to get back behind the drums, but he needs your help.

The Warehouse is located behind Camp Bow Wow (just Google it) off Taylor Street. Drive to the left of Camp Bow Wow. Park and enter through the woodworking shop in back. Waiting inside is a surprise stage and great time. It’s a really cool hang and we can’t wait to see you!
