With a new year comes a new installment of the Carolina Shout series – this concert is not to be missed! Featuring world-class composer, producer, and musician Dick Goodwin, the performance will also include his big band.
The Dick Goodwin Big Band will be in concert at the Harbison Theatre (Midlands Tech campus) on Friday, January 18th at 7:30.
The twelve of us will be performing a delightful mix of selections from a number of decades … all special arrangements for the ensemble and for vocalists Kristi Hood and John Wilkinson. The ensemble features our stellar brass section (Charlie Polk & David Allison trumpets, Bruce Clark/Ashley Fleshman/Ed Craft trombones), Doug Graham on clarinet and saxophone, Jerry Sims and Terry Trentham guitar and bass, and Jim Hall drums. I’m playing too … some trumpet, some piano, and I’m even planning to sing a little.
If you’ve not been in the Harbison Theatre it is a wonderful and comfortable listening venue and there is ample parking. Tickets are $15 and $20.
I do hope that you can join us.
