Jazz for Kids: A FREE Field Trip to the Koger Center

The ColaJazz Foundation invites elementary students to experience Jazz for Kids—a high-energy, interactive field trip that brings American history and culture to life through live music.

Students won’t just sit and watch. They’ll listen, sing, move and participate as professional musicians introduce them to the sounds, stories and rhythms of jazz.

ColaJazz provides:

• Free admission for students and educators

• Full reimbursement for school bus transportation

• A professionally produced educational concert at the Koger Center

What Students Will Experience

Live Music + Participation
Students hear professional jazz musicians up close while singing, moving, keeping rhythm and interacting with the performers.

History Through Music
They’ll discover how jazz grew from the American South into a music heard around the world, including South Carolina’s important place in that story.

A Journey Through Jazz
Students experience Swing, Latin Jazz, Vocal Jazz and more while learning how musicians listen, improvise and work together.

Lessons Beyond Music
Jazz encourages creativity, confidence, teamwork, listening and finding your own voice.

For Some Students, This Will Be a First

Their first live jazz concert.
Their first visit to a major performing arts center.
Their first time seeing professional musicians create music right in front of them.

Our goal is simple: spark curiosity, open a door and give every child the joy of experiencing live music.
