As a thank you for your incredible support of ColaJazz throughout 2025, we invite you to step out of the holiday rush and into our office-turned-listening-room for a very special, intimate performance of Vince Guaraldi’s holiday masterpiece.
A Musical Revolution in a Cartoon
Did you know? When CBS executives first heard Vince Guaraldi’s score in 1965, they were terrified. At the time, television animation was strictly accompanied by slapstick orchestral music. The executives thought Guaraldi’s sophisticated, West Coast cool jazz was "too mature" and "too low-energy" for children.
They couldn't have been more wrong. The soundtrack went on to become one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, introducing generations of listeners to the beauty of the piano trio. We are proud to keep that sophisticated spirit alive right here in Columbia.
Meet the "Peanuts" Gang
For this performance, the Nick Vlandis Trio steps into the shoes of our favorite neighborhood characters to bring this iconic score to life:
Nick Vlandis as "Schroeder": Leading the way on the keys with the grace and precision the role demands.
Wilson Stokes as "Pig Pen": Providing the earthy, soulful foundation on the bass.
Brendan Bull as "Snoopy": Bringing the playful, swinging energy on the drums.
