Created as a partnership between the Koger Center for the Arts and the ColaJazz Foundation, Live in the Lobby 2025 will consist of seven concerts held throughout the Koger Center facility. Join us to experience this one-of-a-kind series designed for audiences seeking premier jazz and specialty experiences in an exceptional setting.
Rodney Foster Jr. from Columbia, SC has been playing on the music scene for 10 years. He was exposed to music early with his father and mother being musicians/singers. After showing interest in his father’s instruments. He was given his first bass and has not put it down since. Since then Rodney has picked up guitar and dabbles on the keyboard. You can catch Rodney playing in and around Columbia in several bands playing different genres of music. Rodney enjoys teaching and helping students reach their goals. With the understanding that every student learns differently he will cater lessons to reach anyone who has the passion and will to play music.
Brittany Turnipseed, affectionately known as the “Southern Songbird,” hails from South Carolina, where her musical journey began. With a seamless blend of Southern charm and soulful melodies, Brittany has become a beloved figure both locally and beyond. Her frequent performances at Columbia’s Chayz Lounge have garnered a dedicated following, while her talent has afforded her opportunities to open for revered artists such as Melba Moore, Eric Roberson, and The Isley Brothers. Brittany’s versatility shines whether she’s accompanying live performances for the South Carolina Ballet or paying homage to blues icon Drink Smalls on SCETV. Her rising star status was solidified by winning the top prize at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night in Harlem. Beyond her musical prowess, Brittany is a loving wife and mother, exemplifying the essence of Southern roots charm. With her captivating voice and unyielding passion, she continues to delight audiences, ensuring her lasting presence in the realm of music.
