Jamie Wright brings her jazz standards show to the Loft, with music made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Lalah Hathaway, and other great voices of jazz and soul.
These songs have lived in our ears for generations. In Jamie's hands they feel fresh and still true to the originals. You'll hear sophisticated musicianship and a voice that fills the room. In a space this intimate, you won't just hear it. You'll feel it.
Meet Jamie Wright
Jamie's voice was shaped in church. She is a vocalist, songwriter, and recording artist, born in South Carolina, who started singing as a child in Seneca. She went on to study at the North Carolina School of the Arts and sang professionally in New York City with Opera Ebony.
That formal training lets her move easily between jazz, soul, R&B, gospel, and classical music. As frontwoman of the Jamie Wright Band, she's known for big vocals, deep musicality, and real emotion. Most of all, she's known for connecting with the people in front of her.
