ColaJazz Plays for Senior-Living Community

Mark Rapp, Founder and Director of Colajazz, is passionate about bringing the sounds and message of Jazz music to everyone and creating work for musicians. He stated, "Whether we are playing for one or one-thousand, ColaJazz Outreach serves our communities - period."Recently, ColaJazz Outreach sent two jazz musicians to Discovery Village, a senior-living community to play for their residents.ColaJazz Outreach at Discovery VillagePlaying at a retirement community may not sound like the hippest jazz gig, but deep down, it is one of the most powerful and hip things a jazz musician can do. The origins of jazz came from a place of rising above difficult conditions, communing with like-minded individuals, celebrating differences and creating a spirit of hope. Jazz is unlike any other music in that you are simultaneously recognizing the past, living in the moment and conjuring an inviting future. For the two jazz musicians who played at Discovery Village, not only did they enjoy making music together, they earned extra money while doing good for a community which usually does not receive world-class jazz artists visiting them. It is a win-win for all.ColaJazz Outreach is made possible through generous donations, sponsors and partners. Won't you be a gladiator for good and help us continue to serve our communities?[fusion_button link="/support/" text_transform="uppercase" title="SUPPORT COLAJAZZ OUTREACH" target="_self" alignment="center" hide_on_mobile="small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility" type="flat" size="large" stretch="yes" shape="pill" icon_position="left" icon_divider="no"]SUPPORT COLAJAZZ OUTREACH[/fusion_button]
