Two-time Grammy Award-winning musician, composer, educator, and storyteller Charlton Singleton takes the stage for Chords & Conversations, an intimate evening of solo piano, music, and stories.

Through songs he has written and music that has shaped his life, Charlton invites you into the stories behind the melodies, sharing the people, places, experiences, and emotions that give each piece its meaning. Part performance, part conversation, and part musical journey, Chords & Conversations offers a rare opportunity to experience Charlton Singleton in a more personal and intimate setting.

About Charleton Singleton

Charlton Singleton, a native of Awendaw, South Carolina, began his musical journey at age three. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from South Carolina State University and is a founding member of Ranky Tanky, the two-time Grammy Award-winning quintet known for celebrating Gullah music (2019, 2022). In 2021, he received the South Carolina Governor’s Award, the state’s highest honor in the arts. He currently serves as Artistic Director of Charleston’s MOJA Arts Festival, which showcases African American and Caribbean artistry. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Charlton and his wife, MaryJo, are proud parents of Shalamar and D’Marcus, grandparents to Sophia Rose, and devoted caregivers to their four pets.
