Jazz Album of the Week!

This week we feature an album co-led by 2 saxophone giants- "Getz Meets Mulligan in Hi-Fi"!

Recorded in 1957 on the Verve label, this saxophone summit features baritone man Gerry Mulligan and tenor guru Stan Getz in a set of standards backed by a beautiful rhythm section. The first side of the album actually features the two swapping horns, giving an interesting taste of Mulligan on tenor and Getz on baritone, something rarely done in the studio! If you haven't heard this, get on it. We like Stan Getz and Gerry Mulligan a lot.

Personnel:

Stan Getz- tenor saxophone

Gerry Mulligan- baritone saxophone

Lou Levy- piano

Ray Brown- bass

Stan Levey- drums
