jazz album of the week

This week we feature a joint album by saxophonists Paul Gonsalves and Sonny Stitt- "Salt and Pepper!"

Recorded in 1964 on the Impulse! label, this dual-tenor spectacle is a must have for jazz fans. A standard blowing session, this date features Gonsalves (of Duke Ellington fame) and Stitt (a bebop veteran) playing a their very best, backed by a fantastic rhythm section. From Ellington classic "Perdido" to a gorgeous version of Hoagy Carmichaels "Stardust", this album is packed with fiery playing from all parties. Get it!
